The website of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, game show has published a list of personal data. of the trade visitors published. The Entertainment Software Association is responsible for the E3. The list contained over 2000 records from journalists as well as producers, among others. The journalist Sophia Narwitz drew attention to the data breach in an YouTube video .
Categories of data concerned: Names, medium, telephone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses
Classification in practice: It is not unusual to request data from exhibitors or trade visitors during trade fairs. However, the data subjects must consent to the processing of the data. The fact that the data has been publicly accessible does not comply with data protection regulations.
