Type of data breach: data protection fine for failure to give consent
An Italian company from the energy sector had contracted an Albanian call centre in the course of contract processing. The service provider was to contact customers whose telephone numbers had been collected by the responsible company. However, the Italian data protection authority determined that the consent to the processing of personal data. and the information requirements were missing.
